Since the death of Jesus, it is well documented that Mary Magdalene travelled to France where she became the spiritual leader for a group that came to be called the Cathars or Pure Ones.
While there she taught Jesus’ philosophy, built the Chartres Labyrinth and taught how to use the Lord’s Prayer with it. (2)
The defining feature of the Chartres Labyrinth is the 6 petal rose center.
In the Oral Tradition, the etymology of the Chartres labyrinth design is credited to King Solomon (who may have been influenced by the Queen of Sheba).
Despite the horrors of the Crusades and Mont Segur (5) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Monts%C3%A9gur
there is still a quietly active Way of Love community in France, and surrounding areas.
Exciting News! In April of 2025, Corina Crysler will be leading a Magdalene tour in the south of France with Veronique a renowned guide in the Magdalene and Cathar traditions. More information will follow.
