What is “The Way of Love”?
The Way of Love is an ancient and simple philosophy:
Love God, Love Each Other.
This was the core of Jesus’ teachings.
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Mathew 22: 37-40)
This philosophy is not new. It was practiced by other cultures. When studying in Egypt with Dr Carolyn Myss I discovered that Hathor, the primordial and primeval Goddess of Love was worshipped for a halcyon 2000 years. It was a time of great community.
In The Magdalene Gospel we learn that The Divine is neither referred to as Father or Mother but rather “The Good”.
Further, we learn that the core practice of The Way of Love is to take the time regularly to harmonize our divinity with our humanity by merging energetically.¹ In other words, practice oneness through meditation.
Saying the Lord’s Prayer with the Chartres Labyrinth was introduced to me through Kathleen McGowan’s non-fiction book: The Source of Miracles 7 Steps to Transforming Your Life Through THE LORD’S PRAYER.² McGowan teaches us the ancient meanings of each petal in the 6 petal rose in the centre of the Chartres Labyrinth. Each petal relates to lines in the prayer:
Energetically the Lord’s Prayer is a perfect roadmap to merge our humanity with our divinity.
This was the practice taught by Mary Magdalene.
In 2013 I had a mystical experience during a shared Therapeutic Touch ™ Session³ in front of the Black Madonna after walking the Chartres Labyrinth in the Chartres Cathedral France. The ultimate message was that the Lord’s Prayer is and always has been a chakra meditation. It is like a bridge that is designed to facilitate unity consciousness. Each petal landed in each chakra from the root up. What followed was a rhyme. “Words of Wisdom” companionable to the Lord’s Prayer flowed through me. Over time, through my daily and weekly practice, contemporary non-gender words to the prayer arose.
CONTEMPORARY WORDS
The Good in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Vibration.
Thy Music come Thy Song be sung.
In us as in the Womb of Creation.
You nourish us always
And liberate us so we may liberate others
And illuminate us, revealing all connection.
For Thy song is everywhere, unifying, powerful, and glorious eternally
Amen.
WISDOM WORDS
Faith is knowing
Surrender if flowing
Service activates
Breathing co-creates
Forgiveness unifies
Seeing all perspective is the way of the wise.
Now through Thy grace all transcend
To live and love and merge again.
Om.
